In my experience, most one-hour meetings can be handled in 45 minutes. In fact, they usually are as, often, especially later in the day, people are generally running 5 to 15 minutes late for meetings anyway. If it’s part of your corporate culture to run late, start your meetings at 9:15; because people usually get ready to leave their desks on the hour, you may be pleased to find your colleagues actually show up “on time.” Source:Jason Womack, the author of Your Best Just Got Better

By Gregg Newby, Staff Writer Content provided bymyOptumHealth.com April 15th is a date most Americans know well. Yet every year, millions of people have to scramble to get their taxes in on time, even though they’ve known about it for months in advance. Some of them may have a good reason, but others just haven’t gotten around to it. They’re models for that infamous bumper sticker – “Procrastinate Now!” But whether it’s filing your taxes or making a dental appointment, procrastination can cause problems. Habitual procrastinators put things off even when they know there could be serious consequences. Yet this can create needless stress and anxiety, both for you and those around you.
By William Chen Daily Titan The start of a new semester invites students to begin afresh. What is done is in the past and the new semester awaits further achievements. However, the old enemy “procrastination” continues to try to derail students from their diligent studies. The Problem A research study conducted by the Psychological Bulletin in 2007 by Piers Steel revealed that roughly 80-95 percent of college students engage in procrastination. One of the causes, indicated by the research, is distractibility. Online videos, Web surfing, iPods and Blackberries are some venues of distractions in the tech-savvy culture today, according to an article in USA Today. Cal State Fullerton staff and students recognize procrastination as a problem that needs to be battled. Although this is a large problem, both parties provide hope that developing new habits can prevent procrastination. To read the complete article, please click here

by Robert Half Journal of Accountancy Time. There’s always so little of it and so much to do. Napoleon Bonaparte once said, “Ask…me for whatever you please, except time; that is the only thing which is beyond my power.” But is time really beyond our control or can we manage how we use our time? Time management is a skill that’s becoming increasingly important in today’s frenetic business climate, which calls on us to accomplish more — with, of course, less time.
